MEET THE COACHES

Dr. Drew O’Donnel

Drew is the founder and owner of Endure. He grew up in Dayton, Ohio and now lives in Traverse City, Michigan with his beautiful wife, Maren and crazy 2-year-old son, Callum. He went to The University of Toledo where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science in 2014 and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2017. Since then he became an IRONMAN Certified Coach, Certified Nutritional Physical Therapist, and Certified Running Gait Analyst.

He is an avid triathlete, cross country skier, and mountain biker and is addicted to movement. Drew has completed both IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 races, VASA ski races, Bayshore Half Marathon, and various mountain/fat tire bike races. He is very passionate about exercise physiology, fitness, nutrition, and mentorship. Coaching has allowed Drew to combine all of these passions into one. Outside of his own IRONMAN training, Drew loves rock climbing, attending Sojourn Church, family outings, and watching his son’s movement develop.

He has coached athletes to finish first time IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events, achieve new personal bests, and to qualify for the Boston Marathon. He works with endurance athletes at all skill levels and disciplines with the most common sports being triathlons, running, mountain biking. If there is a challenge out there waiting for you, Drew would love to help you conquer it.

Dr. Brent Hull

Brent first developed a passion for endurance sports events through running track and cross-country in high school. He continued to run recreationally in college and after. His passion for running led him into the field of exercise science in college and then into becoming a physical therapist. As a PT, his favorite population to work with was and still is his fellow runners.

His coaching journey started out how many coaches’ do through self coaching. He was successful in qualifying for the Boston Marathon in his first attempt at the marathon. He genuinely loved the process of programming individualized training plans and started writing them for free for friends and family members. He helped most all of them knock out their first race of that distance or PR by a significant amount. This led him to wanting to not just do this for those close to him, but also help others that have a similar passion for running and other endurance training events but don’t have the background in endurance training or just want to take the thought process out of training. Being a physical therapist, he specializes in injury prevention/management during training as well as recovery. He is trained in performing running gait analysis for runners. Although his Bachelor’s in Exercise Science does give him a solid foundation of programming he’s furthered his knowledge through learning from some of the big names in endurance coaching including Dr. Jack Daniels, Joe Friel, and Dr. Philip Friere Skiba.

Brent married the love of his life, Allie, in 2019. They have one daughter, Adalyn. They’ve loved living in Traverse City because of all the outdoor activities it allows them to do. They also love traveling and visiting new places. Aside from running, Brent has also picked up on other activities that he enjoys including cross-country skiing, mountain and road biking, hiking, and weight-lifting, and has found that this keeps his training more balanced and also gives him variability in forms of enjoyment.
